A Picture Adventure Safari

Picture Adventure partners with expert red panda trackers and naturalist-photographer Shivang Mehta to offer an immersive expedition into the Eastern Himalayas. In one of the world’s only accessible wild red panda habitats, you’ll explore moss-draped forests in search of these elusive, charismatic creatures — camera in hand and mist in the air.

The Red Panda Experience

Based in the quiet high-altitude forests along the Indo–Nepal border, this expedition takes you into Singalila National Park, a stronghold for wild red pandas. Days are spent on foot, gently trekking through rhododendron groves and bamboo thickets while experienced local spotters scan for movement.
Evenings are spent in cozy mountain lodges, reviewing photos and sharing stories beside hot food and warm fires. This is a true expedition — not just a trek, and not just a tour — made for wildlife lovers who value the search as much as the sighting.

Wildlife & Natural Highlights

Red Panda Tracking
Join professional trackers and guides to search for wild red pandas in their native cloud forest habitat. Known as the “firefox,” this rare species is seen with increasing frequency thanks to expert tracking techniques and low-impact tourism.

Eastern Himalayan Birdlife & Mammals
In addition to red pandas, Singalila is home to Himalayan monals, blood pheasants, yellow-throated martens, and even Himalayan black bears. Wildlife photography opportunities abound for those who remain alert on the trail.

Rhododendrons & Cloud Forest Canopies
In season, vibrant rhododendron blooms light up the forest, while twisting moss-laced branches create one of the most atmospheric photography environments in the Himalayas.
